1. Publishing on desktop
Social media managers, agencies, and marketers, Instagram has answered our wishes. Instagram has provided the ability to publish posts directly from your desktop. This provides the ability to upload carousel posts and videos in under one minute!
Go to your desktop and log in to your Instagram account. In the upper right-hand corner, where you can see your profile image, there will be a small box with a plus sign.
Once you click that small button, the magic happens!
You can start uploading photos for a carousel post, and the best part is that you can drag the photos into any order you would like them to show.
Simply click the same icon as you would if you had uploaded these images on the app.
One of the best features that are available is the ability to add alt-text to all images within each different carousel. Alt-text is part of accessibility for those with physical and mental disabilities.
The blind or visually impaired need alt-text to provide feedback on the image to provide more context. While the ability to add Image Descriptions at the end of the post itself is helpful, alt-text provides the best context.
Also, with Instagram moving towards a more “search engine” friendly social app, this can help with search purposes.
Furthermore, there is the ability to turn off commenting for accounts that would like to do so.
To continue to have marketers and companies use Facebook for publishing and content creation, this feature is available in Facebook Creative Studio too. The benefit of this is that it provides the ability to schedule Reels and Stories as well through the publishing platform.
It is a convenient option, but it can be difficult to use because of Facebook’s unpredictability.
