From Google My Business switching to Google Business Profiles, a new AI language learning update, along with, the number of changes that are happening in SERP. The industry is reporting on some massive changes that will prove valuable in the future.

Here are the top January Google SEO updates from our Colorado SEO consultants.
Unconfirmed updates
Research from SEO Roundtable and Semrush shows that on January 11, 12, 14, 15, 19, 20, and 22 there were fluxes in Google’s SERP, but these fluctuations were “unconfirmed” Google updates. This means that these updates were not Core Update or Algorithm-based, but this could indicate a bigger change coming.
What has the SEO Twitter world been saying? Some experts are noticing a heavy crawl in bots, while others are noticing a massive spike in traffic.
One of the bigger changes that is coming to Google’s SERP is the release of the Google Page Experience update on the desktop version!
Page Experience Update- Desktop version
Our experts have reported on this update several times before, but since its launch in May, with an official launch date of June 2021, this update continues to transform. Google Search Console recently reported that as of February 2022, the update would transition into its desktop version of the update.
The Page Experience Update takes into consideration the Core Web Vitals (CWV) updates that have been set into place. As of last year, mobile user experience was one of the main concerns, but now with this underway, the desktop is next.
